This year 2011 is the 16th Lesgaicinemad in Madrid, Spain. Offering the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival in Madrid. The Festival will run from 03 of November till the 13th of November.

One of the line up of the festival is the film of Marco Berger’s Ausente (Absent).

The film won the Teddy Award last february. This film is on the competition for the feature length film.

The film is about Martin, a 16 year old student who partitipated in the swimming class of the school. He had an eye to his professor. At the end of the day he makes excuses only his desire to go home with his professor. At the end as Martin lied about nobody was home and no one to sleep that night, finally his professor invited him to stay over night at his house. Martin tried to seduce his professor because he wanted that something will happen to them.

The film’s burden on the character is about the student on how is is capable to do make decision to be with the adult at the risk of the Student-Professor relationship.

A film that will not surely missed-. Excellent — Box of Recollections ‘ 11

You can check my previous review this year.: AUSENTE, MARCO BERGER

Once upon a time in a far away land…… this is the line that i always heard when someone was giving us a story telling….. When i was a kid, my language teacher will give us a story telling every friday…. In those days, I’ve heard the story of Cinderella, of Sleeping Beauty, of the Beauty and the Beast and Snow White… All these story was all about Princesses who are so humble and waiting for their Prince. Known to be a Royal Prince. A blue blooded white man, young with blue eyes and blond hair…. and when i grew up, these stories faded…. change to finding Neverland of Peter pan, the aminated cartoons and some japanese tvs astroboy, Bioman and Shaider….  teenager years, I never thought of anything about these since i came to Spain. The Royal monarchy exist…. Prince Felipe married to Princess Leticia….. And my eyes saw and live with it. I have been there while the known to be Princess wedding cars passing along the street…… And now at 2011. The  son of the late Lady Diana’ wedding today…. So then I realised that every dream when your a kid will still come true… It’s not that we are waiting for our Prince or Princess or we live in a Castle or Palace, the important thing is still keep on dreaming, besides its Priceless…

To Prince William and Catherine Middleton… Congratulations–

Bernie Paez, just last month contact me about this post that i featured him since 2009. He is now residing in Mexico and working on his next project. Again i would like to share this post for 2011.

Previous post:

Bernardo Paez is a 23 year model. He’s a Latin America raced. With his eye catching looks that anyone can me hipnotized with and his inocent look and smiles that captivates someone who is looking at him. If he will be given opportunity not only for modeling, he will be totally hearthrob!

Photos taken by my friend photographer who resides in Beverly Hills, Californa. Julius I. Soriano..

Last February 18, the night before the Berlinale Awards, celebrated another Gala for the prestigious Teddy Awards to prize the GLBT films of 2011. The best feature film this year went to Marco Berger’s Film AUSENTE (Absent).

Last year winner was Lisa Cholodenko for her film The Kids Are All Right and now nominated for Oscars 2011.

The film Ausente by Marco Berger is all about the relationship between the student and his professer, 16 years old boy name Martin in his swimming class and his professor Sebastian. It’s not about the professor who is race with the student now its reverse. It’s about Martin who wanted to seduce his professor.

One time Martin had this accident and Sebastian was the one who brought him to hospital. That time Martin had already plan in mind to stay overnight in his Sebastian’s apartment. Until his plan works.

As the Director Marco said that his film is all about the risk of the relationship between the Professor and the Student. The objective of the film is to analyze the nature of desire and the way in which an adult will react into this situation, the intention is not to punish but to understand without any taboo.

DIRECTOR: Haim Tabakman
producer: Rafael KATZ, PIMPA PRODUCTIONS
screenwriter: Merav Doster
cinematographer: Axel SCHNEPPAT
editor: Dov SHTOYER

Synopsis:

Eyes Wide Open is a love story of Aaron and Ezri in a ultra Orthodox Jewish community in the capital Jerusalem. A love story between to men..

Aaron (38), a respectable butcher in Jerusalem’s ultra-Orthodox community, is married to Rivka (28) and a dedicated father to four children.

After his father’s death, Aaron is looking for assistance in his business when a handsome and homeless Yeshiva (religious school) student, Ezri (19), comes upon the butcher shop by chance.
Aaron decides to be Ezri’s patron: he hires him, teaches him the craft of slaughtering, and houses Ezri in the shop’s back room. Aaron invites Ezri to meals in his home and introduces him to the community. When they go together to a remote “Mikve” (a sacred ritual bath), an intimate moment occurs between them.

From this moment onwards, Aaron knows no peace. Spending more and more time with Ezri, Aaron starts neglecting his family and community life until he is completely swept away in a whirlpool of love and lust for Ezri.

While Rivka suspects that something is wrong with Aaron, Rabbi Vaisben, (56) a family friend and the head of the community, tries to warn Aaron of the future to come if he won’t expel Ezri. But Aaron refuses.
Unwilling to tolerate Ezri’s presence, the “Modesty Guards”, a radical authority in the Ultra-Orthodox community, threaten Aaron.
Under enormous pressure that Rivka and the community operate on him, Aaron comes to a decision to commit an irreversible act….
