After Fados da Tristeza Alegre (2006), singer Marco Rodrigues released last september his second album, Tantas Lisboas (2010), through Universal Music. In this album he collaborated with artists such as Carlos do Carmo and Mafalda Arnauth and among the composers and lyricists Tiago Machado, Boss AC, Tiago Torres da Silva and Inês Pedrosa.

Marco Rodrigues who live in Arcos de Valdevez believes that ” fado” are incredible. Coming to Lisboa with her mother changes everything. At home people knew that he had a talent in singing, so at that time television gave you popularity so then on he win in the Coliseum in Lisbon for Grande Noite do Fado.

After 10 years had passed, Marco has proved an enduring one, now release another album not pretending to change something but the way on how he sees the musical genre.

Marco says that ” In this CD have a theme that I wanted a song in which he had an array of fate, that people identify not even having the usual characteristics. I wanted to make a topic to talk about love, but a happy love, “clarified Marco Rodriguez, referring to the theme” The inverse of Fado “, where you can hear a passage that says:” When you walk in the night it is … and clarity has emerged on the street every time. “This is what the singer describes as “fado, but not cliché, as it has a fresh letter and this music can also be joyful, “.

After partnering with Carlos do Carmo and Mafalda Arnauth and have sung in stray with Mariza, Marco Rodrigues now cherishes the dream of making a duet with Cameroonian bassist Richard Bornata, which is a fan. “It was a funny mix, because he plays world music and traditional music with various influences, “explains the singer, and yet it is not distracting from the moment his priority: “to build a career. “

Tantas Lisboas, the title of his second album has inspired him the city of Lisbon.  The city of Lisbon is present naturally in many songs on the album. Of them all, Marco Rodrigues highlights “Saldanha Man“, a duet with Carlos do Carmo, with lyrics by Boss AC and music by Tiago Machado. “This song is a typical character of Lisbon, which is one man who spends his nights at Saldanha waving to people with whom I identify, because I lived on the periphery of this zone. And Tiago Machado, who is part of the band Boss AC, asked him to issue the letter, since made sense that he was writing about an urban figure, he also being a singer of urban music. After that came the opportunity to do a duet with Carlos do Carmo – which in addition to my personal friend and always have been a reference for me, it was through him that I began to hear fado – and everything has combined to perfection. “

Last February 18, the night before the Berlinale Awards, celebrated another Gala for the prestigious Teddy Awards to prize the GLBT films of 2011. The best feature film this year went to Marco Berger’s Film AUSENTE (Absent).

Last year winner was Lisa Cholodenko for her film The Kids Are All Right and now nominated for Oscars 2011.

The film Ausente by Marco Berger is all about the relationship between the student and his professer, 16 years old boy name Martin in his swimming class and his professor Sebastian. It’s not about the professor who is race with the student now its reverse. It’s about Martin who wanted to seduce his professor.

One time Martin had this accident and Sebastian was the one who brought him to hospital. That time Martin had already plan in mind to stay overnight in his Sebastian’s apartment. Until his plan works.

As the Director Marco said that his film is all about the risk of the relationship between the Professor and the Student. The objective of the film is to analyze the nature of desire and the way in which an adult will react into this situation, the intention is not to punish but to understand without any taboo.
