Madrid & Barcelona Pride 2011

The Madrid Pride 2011 has just finished two weeks ago and again one of the best highlights of parade in Europe as lots people, from heterosexual friendly invades the whole gran via as an excuse for the pride and Fiesta.. Almost thousands of people from the whole place of Puerta de Alcala to Plaza España in Madrid conglomerated… Chueca as the focal point of this year but it has a silent music fiesta..Plaza de Callao had his own concert too.

This year i participated with the March with friends. Unlike 3 years ago, i was just one of the bystanders who watches the pride and now i accompanied my friends to march.

The asian in Europe as one of the theme of my closest friends parade. They want to revindicate the integration, visibility, union and equality of asians in Europe. (This photo is in Madrid pride 2011)

Yesterday i was looking at some stuff at home and some notebooks. I saw this red covered like thickler of mine. I wrote here some of my daily journals and also i wrote here some short stories that i was so inspired of the situations and it depends as well the day and the mood.  So i am sharing you some of it. Excerpt from the red diary.

It was August 20,2010 when Carlos and Nelson meet after a summer break when Carlos went to Italy. Nelson was so happy to meet Carlos so he can tell his stories of his trip. They met during the night and they went for a dinner, Even though Carlos didn’t told Nelson that it was his birthday, Nelson bought something special for him. Something too keep.. A reminder of their love. That was the start of a chance of sharing each other love for each other…. (to be continued).

OMG Magazine September 2010 Issue

This September Issue is back with the sailor!!! Famous for his perfume Le Male and his ads campaign of this sailor mens!! The one and only JEAN PAUL GAULTIER!!!

Another recap of this coming September fashion as autumn is coming in the next months!!

Our very own Israel Acevedo who will represent Spain next year search for Mr Gay World in Manila and who will also represent Mr. Gay Europe 2010. From Sevilla who represent his province last july 4, in search for Mr. Gay Pride 2010 Spain in Madrid a day before the Pride March.

One of the Biggest Event before summer, the much awaited start of the season is the Pride In Madrid. Over a million people gathered in the street for fun, pride and for family. Yours truly dressed up like sailors and march around the streets with friends. OMG took a pic of the events.

Last year I saw Mr. Sevilla 1st Runner Up in the Mr Pride 2009 and this year we’ve seen each other again. Mr. Sevilla Daniel Perez.

Christmas in Madrid 09

It’s Christmas time once again, can’t you feel it? Yesterday when i woke up in the morning and i opened up my window looking out the top of the other apartments, snows where there covering it, the chilling cold breezed my cheek, I said to myself this is Christmas. It’s cold and snowing. The other day i was at the CTBA ( Cuatro Torres Business Area) , if you have a look the four tallest buildings in Madrid, It was covered with fog.

Madrid is different in terms of Xmas celebration. Unlike i guess from Manila, New York or London. In Manila, you have all this Christmas traditions where they celebrate it year by year. You can hear the Christmas song waving in the radio in every frequency. Childrens are carolling in the streets and in others houses. Others go to the Misa de Gallo to attend mass and after that they taste filipino delicacies like puto, bibingka etc. Each houses are decorated with their lights and trees. But all of these i guess im missing way back home.

In Madrid, some ferias are open, the lights are out there in the Gran Via and other Commercial Areas like Puerta de Sol, Red de San Luis, Chueca, Plaza Mayor and even in Cibeles. They even open an ice rink in the Plaza de Callao. Some mercadillos as usual in Plaza Mayor. Calle Preciados is inundated with people for their last minute Christmas Shopping. But i couldn’t hear any Christmas songs in the air….

It’s been a pleasure for me to continue this blog, despite the fact that sometimes i may be very busy in work and personal life. I even forget to post my Fourth YEAR blog ANNIVERSARY last month. and still thanking for all the readers out there and other blogmates for their continued support on my blog. This Christmas, i would like to thank everyone and to all the people who became part of me. Your all in my BOX OF RECOLLECTIONS!

Summer 2009 // Milan, Italy

 

My summer of 2009 was in Milan, Italy. I travelled with my 5 friends, one of them 2 of them i always travelled during summer. It was 2 years ago we went to Palma de Mallorca Island in Balleares, Spain. Last year me and my other friend went to Amsterdam, The Netherland and this year the 3 of us again reunited in Milan, Italy.

Some say that Milan is dark and grey. Old building and quite dull, but on the contrary Milan is the shopping and fashion capital of Italy. From the top fashion areas and known Quadrilatero D’Oro….if you have money to spend why not here!!!!

Aside from that One of the best built church in Lombardy is the Duomo. The fascade are great representing its biblical based and religious icons. And you mersemerized with the view inside and the top over looking the centre of Milan.

Next to it is the Galeria Vittorio Emmanuel with is Dome!!

Party at night in one of the glam strip of Corso Como! And another early night stroll to the Barrio of Naviglio! ride with its tram and its buses all long way!!

Milan has a lot to offer. A day excursion to Lago Di Como as we did while we were there!!! its magnificent!!!

The Green Apples of Miguel

Dear JJNN,

Let me tell you now what happened from the past months. An update of the four elements. I do hope you still remember what happen on that last summer. Dont know if they will go back again there. But i guess its a good time to go back since its summer and the dew of the morning is fresh and brezee.

One sunday afternoon that the element Fire went out with the apprentice. They scout the whole yard and the area of the Villa and then they turned up into Miguel’s fruit yard. Fire was so amaze of what he had seen, there are lots of fruits and vegetables around and in one corner side, a glittering green apples. These apples was captivated with his eyes and couldnt move on. The apprentice was dragging him off but yet he was still there unmoved. Then the owner of the vineyard came toward them and asked Fire if he wanted it. Then he replied a big ” YES” . Miguel’s face was so clear and with that smile in his face maybe thinking now this is the time. When Miguel would give Fire the apples, the apprentice drag him along and move. The temptation was almost there but thinking aside he said, why cant he have the green apples? Maybe another like Adam and Eve in the garden? But this is green. comoufladed.  ” Temptations sometimes comes in every form, in every shape and in every way. No matter how good and beauty it poses still it hiddens motive inside ” Luckily Fire didnt caught into FIRE!

Element Wind went over months on his holidays. Leaving the mountains of Pyrenees where he currently resides. He has gone up north in the Kingdom where his apprentice Simon resides. They have toured the county and the castles around. Simon showed the village, where they get the boat and sailed  it the whole afternoon. Soon he will be back in Pyrenees.

Element Earth and Water are still undecided. They havent been outside the Kingdom where they reside. Nor their apprentice where there too. Quiteness and calm for them.

 

Fire and his apprentice will go to the north in two weeks time to enjoy some of their holidays.

This year another success with friends and new friends, repeating the last year event with still the close friends. From lunch to party and till midnight. May the spirit will be the whole year round.

Last Saturday July 4,2009, The Madrid Pride started at Puerta de Alcala ending up in Plaza España with more than 32 floats. and all the streets of Gran Via are crowded with people. Another year of success i guess. This year aim is equality at school. Respect and equal rights. The streets again full of flags in their colours. Enjoy the pics!

Ismael Alvarez : In Yer Face // BOR Exclusive

Ismael Alvarez is a comic artist. He works as an illustrator, designer and a comic book artist. He has released recently his compilation called ” In Yer Face”, a compilations of his works, drawings and illustrations from the Bruno Gmunger Editorial. Last time i had a chance to meet him and congratulate him for his work.

Madrid Gay Pride Week 2009// Part II

As one of the things to be posted are the events of this week Madrid Gay Pride 2009.

July 1 started the activities in the Barrio of Chueca. Opening up to various areas like Plaza de Chueca in which Boriz Isaguirre and Soraya open up the festival . Soraya Arnelas former Operacion Triunfo and who represented Eurovision 2009 this year animated the event. Plaza de Chueca is the heart of the GLBT district where thousand of people conglomerated to enjoy the music and the shows courtesy of the organizers of MADO (madrid orgullo). Chueca is decorated with rainbow flags, each and every corner of the street and bars line up infront with their refreshments and cocktails to refresh the summer heat! DJ’S with the disco beats of techo, to Michael Jackson “Beat It” sounds up every corner of Calle Libertad and Calle Pelayo.

Along Plaza de Vazquez Mella, Cayetana Guillem Cuervo started the event. Together with other Djs and music accompanied her and people are dancing to the beat. Stand up bars like The Paso, Medaigual, Txueca, Cogam line up for drinks and cocktails, Fundacion Triangulo too has its booth for awareness. To the left of the stage the facade of Hotel Oscar covered with rainbow colours too!

Day 2 : July 2. Pelayo Street. Calle Pelayo. This street is also known in Madrid. you can see the A Different Life, GLBT bookstore from movies, books, calendars etc. You can see also The Eagle, a Leather Bar. SaunaMen, a sauna for young ones! if you try to have a look! They had here yesterday the Carrera de Tacones. High-heel Run. wherein men who will wear womens dress with their high heels and join the run!
