19th Lesgaicinemad : Festival Internacional de cine lesbico gai y transexual de Madrid

2014 celebrates the 19th International Gay Lesbian Transexual Film Festival in Madrid. Marks with the 19th Edition. This years edition is at the edge as with the help of Crowdfunding, they matter to continue the festival but gladly funds were are 100 percent thanks to the people who believes in the Festival. One of the festivals that showcase the best films of LGBT themes around the world. Previous Editions were also the platform to show the Premieres of best films in the film industry. From Feature Length Films, Short Films. and Documentaries. Acclaimed Directors presents together with their casts actors and producers.

Synopsis: It was in San Francisco in 1985. Aids was an an unknown and timid disease that demoralise and discriminates gays. A young dancer will have to decide if he will be one of the first to TEST with the HIV in the crucial moment of his life.  Film with great beauty and spectacular choreography.

From the Director of ” KEEP THE LIGHTS ON ” leads to overcoming within to this beautiful story of twilight love of one couple that decides to get married after 39 years of the relationship. The veteran actors John Lightow and Alfred Molina the protagonist of the films together with Marisa Tomei and in the city of New York.

Pierrot Lunaire

PIERROT LUNAIRE ( Bruce LaBruce ) Germany/Canada 2013

The new experimental piece ” quirkier ” of Bruce La Bruce based on the poem of Albert Giraud and with the notes of Arnold Schoenberg. Preparing with the new set production, the director of the Orchestra Premil Petrovic asked LaBruce to give a vision about this innovatice piece, and he answered with a furios lecture filled with transgretion.

If all films would have a transit of experiences it must be somewhere to a place unknown. a place that something to discover, something you will feel that you will learn something and be soak with a lot of experiences. This is one of the theme of this film. Exit Marrakech is an adventure of a students from Germany. Far from home and into a new environment and place that he haven’t been normally see in other places. It would be for him somewhat an education of feelings and sentiments. Ben ( played by a young actor Samuel Schneider ) discovers his true self and his relation with Karima ( Hafsia Herzi) a native girl in Marrakech that generates all the series of events culturally speaking and the differences of the western culture and the moral code. It is a story of love and the coming of age of sexual discovery.

ExitMarrakech2In this film opens a journey of discovery and as well relationship between Ben and his father ( Ulrich Tukur ), scene director. An intense awakening and for understanding through the dignity and coexistence.

ExitMarrakech3Caroline Link. She studied at the Munich Academy of Film and Television (HFF), and then worked as an assistant director and script writer.

Link’s first feature film, Jenseits der Stille (Beyond Silence, 1996) was nominated for the Academy Award as Best Foreign Language Film, and attracted attention for its portrayal of a family with deaf parents. Her second feature film was Annaluise and Anton (1999), based on a novel by Erich Kästner. Her third feature film, Nirgendwo in Afrika (Nowhere in Africa, 2001), adapted by Link from the autobiographical novel by Stefanie Zweig and shot on location in Kenya. received the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film as well as five German Film Prizes (Deutscher Filmpreis), including Best Feature Film.

Currently Exit Marrakech is part of the program for Feature Film at the Festival de Cine Alemán 2014 / German Film Festival in Madrid, Spain. June 10-14, 2014

16 Festival de Cine Alemán



It’s is Sweet Sixteen as we now reach to the 16th Festival de Cine Alemán. The 16th Edition of German Film Festival in Madrid. Yearly films from Germany are screened in Madrid.  A week where you can enjoy the best of German films new on the Screen and Festivals. Others are either on the first screening to Spanish audiences. With the courtesy of The German Embassy in Madrid, Goethe-Institut Madrid and German films, best films will be showcase in this festival.


From Feature Length Films, Short Films, Documentaries, and Kinder films, In this edition offers its new program to Arthaus Cicle. Films Arthouse and Independent films.


This tuesday 10th of June, the inaugural film will be Exit Marrakech.


This coming Tuesday, in Cine Palafox, The film Exit Marrakech by Caroline Link will be  the inaugural film of the 16th Festival de Cine Aleman which will be celebrated in Madrid until the 14th of June.

The opening will be assisted by the presence of the director of German Films, Mariette Rissenbeek, the director of the film Exit Marrakech, Caroline Link and the actor of the film, Samuel Schneider. 

31 IGLTA Global Convention in Madrid, Spain

IGLTA MAdridMadrid, and Spain in general is an open city. One of the best destinations as well for the celebrations of Gay Pride. It was once the host of European Pride and on 2017 will host the World Pride.

Steve McQueen’s 12 Years of Slave,  co-produced by Brad Pitt, won the Best Picture. Best Actress and won by Lupita Nyong’o, and Best Supporting Actor by Michael Fassbender, Best Actor nomination for Chiwetel Ejiofor.

The Wolf of Wall Street nomination for Best Picture and nomination for the 4th time of Oscars. Jonah Hills performance lead him to Best Supporting Actor nomination. In this category for Best Actor Leonardo Di Caprio. 


August: Osage County. Based on the Tony and Pulitzer Prize Play. Nomination for Best Supporting Actress Julia Roberts and Best Actress Nomination for Meryll Streep. 


Gravity’s Alfonso Cuaron won the award for Best Director. Sandra Bullock was nominated for Best Actress.


Dallas Buyers Club story leads to the winner this year for Best Actor and Best Supporting actor. Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto. Aside from the nominations of Best Picture.


American Hustle nominated with Oscars’ this year with the big names.  Best Picture included. Best Actor Christian Bale, Best Actress Amy Adams, Best Supporting Actress Jennifer Lawrence, Best Supporting Actor Bradley Cooper.


Paolo Sorrentino won the Best Foreign Language Film from Italy.
